Many enterprises are turning to wide area network (WAN) optimisation in order to deliver video effectively, it has been claimed.
Writing for Wall Street Technology Organisation, director of product marketing at Riverbed Technology Nik Rouda explained video is a cost-effective way for global firms to run communications via the internet.
However, transporting video files can "create tremendous network bottlenecks and strain", he noted, suggesting WAN optimisation as a solution.
Mr Rouda said that by reducing the use of bandwidth, the solution can lower the negative impact video consumption has on a network.
Furthermore, combining WAN optimisation and other distribution solutions "can reduce video traffic by as much as 98 per cent with a variety of techniques including stream splitting for live content and deduplication of recorded file transfers," Mr Rouda continued.
Earlier this year, LifeSize introduced a new 16-port modular video conferencing product to provide companies with a high definition solution that can add capacity as demand grows. To find out how LifeSize and Riverbed can help you, call 01761 241695, quoting 'effective video conferencing'.
